A tagset is the list of tags that will be available for the annotator to label the dataset in a project. Tagsets are commonly referred as a labels.
Tagesets can be entities, classes or relations depending on what is the purpose of the label and the type of annotation project.
- Entities are commonly used in Named-Entity-Recognition and Part-of-speech Tagging projects. They are typically concepts tied to a span word or concept.
- Classes are used in most text classification projects, used to classifiy into different categories chunks of text.
- Relations are labels that express a reference or a link between different Entities. Mostly used for Entity Linking projects and text annotation projects that require linking between different concepts.
